Undersharpened (soft) pics

I have a few pics rejected for being soft. I save them at a resolution of 72. There is a drop down menu where I can save them at 96 and on up. If I save them at a higher resolution will this help solve the undersharpened (soft) situation. Any help will be appriciated.

Saving them at a higher resolution will help, and reduce the need for you to use Unsharp Mask or similiar. But a higher resolution will also increase the size (space used) of the photo as well.
