Blurry rejections

Another two rejections, both for blurry. I can see that the first one is blurry, i dont know if it was just the editing or export, or maybe just the heatwaves that i didn't see in my editor. However the second one has only has as a little heat distortion off the road and the hills are a little blurry, but that's because the depth of field. I'll let some unbiased eyes check it out and tell me what they think...

The 1st one just generally looks a little soft.

The second one looks better, but it looks a little off too.

What time of the day did you shoot these?

conrail1990 06-22-2014 07:05 PM

The heat distortion in both is heavy enough to where nothing looks crisp. Both valid rejections imo.

Holy cow, it's still legal to burn coal in the People's Republik of Kalifornia?

They are both a little soft and the second one has some heat distortion, so I guess it's legit.

They are shutting down the nuke plants so I guess they gotta do something.

We just pretend it's unicorn poop! But no, we're exporting it to China. Apparently it's much cleaner than their sulfurous coal.

I think I'll sharpen the second one up a bit and see how it looks, maybe have another go.

Purely out of curiosity, why not mention that in the photo caption? It would certainly add a bit of context.

Oh i would, I just don't find it meaningful to upload a photo and spend the time writing a caption for it just to have it rejected.

And for the person who has everything... and a reclusive relative who fits the bill: http://mcphee.com/shop/crazy-cat-lad...on-figure.html

 That cat looks so pissed off.

Valid reasoning!

The more I look at them, the more I'm surprised they didn't get high sun rejection.

Joe the Photog 06-23-2014 10:25 PM

Both are really neat shots, although the rejections are valid. How quickly can you do a reshoot?

coaststarlight14 06-24-2014 04:38 AM

I was using a rental 100-400mm Canon lens so not anytime soon. Looks like two more for the personal collection. Thanks, guys.
