A Family has a close Call with 63N

I set out on Saturday hoping to catch the two eastbounds I tracked on the ATCS...

NS 350 heads east

After he cleared a family began to walk on the tracks and remained on the tracks taking pictures of their 2 toddlers while the signal shows another eastbound...

NS 63N started to bear down on them, I was shouting for them to get off the tracks...

Just imagine how it could have ended if the train was a westbound coming around the blind curve.

some people (or in this case, Family), have no idea what the consequences can or could be if your having "Fun" on Railroad tracks.

Thanks lostbouy for doing your part in getting them off the Tracks.
I would hate to think what would've happened if this was so much worse.

Things aren't adding up in your story as far as I can tell. I don't hear any shouting. Unless it was a deaf family, I'm pretty sure they heard the horn well in advance of the train getting to where they were. And when you say "bearing down" on them, I don't really consider 10-15 mph as "bearing down" on anyone.

Also, the account from the (alleged) engineer doesn't jive with your account of events:
Quote:

I love the video you took, but let me tell you who I am. I'm the engineer of the train you are looking at in the video. You are a young fellow, very thin, I waved at you. The family was not on the tracks I blew at them to be friendly. The woman was taking video, the man was waving and they had a couple of kids watching the train pass by. No one was even close to the train.

Ween I have talked to the enigneer, @Knsengineer, I understand your perspective but the people were taking pictures on the tracks as you were coming around the bend. I ran down their right as they started to stop and take pictures and tried to alert them. Then as your headlights hit the west bound H72.3 signal I tried to wave the people off and began telling them to get off tracks a train was coming. I don't think you could see from the engineers seat but the people were behind the bend at fetner but came up as you past. I acknowledge you and wish I could becomae an engineer like you. I have some pictures of the people on the tracks at, ( http://triangletrains.blogspot.com/2...-with-63n.html ) if you want I will change the title or remove the video. I just hope you acknowledge my veiw of the situation (I think the parents need a schooling on railroad saftey, the must be out of their mind to bring 2 toddler not much older than 2 onto active Railroad tracks).

Thanksready talked to the engineer. Here is the message I sent him,

It is interesting that you can't hear anyone yelling on the video. It's easy to see the family is on the tracks. This was a monumentally bad idea. But you can't tell when they were there.

If John Kerry was there he would said that they were on the tracks, before they were off the tracks.

If your going to be break the law, at least know what the signals mean.
