GE vs. EMD

OK, here goes nothing. Let the games begin.

I personally prefer the looks of the EMD engines. I love the SD70M-2 and the SD70Ms and such. This may have a lot to do with the fact that I'm on an NS main where nine in ten units is a...D9-40CW. There is probably a reason for this: They're good, therefore, NS loves 'em and has gotten kabookas of 'em.

Disclaimer: I am simply a railfan. I'm not a railroader in any way shape or form.

I don't know or claim to know how they run, but there's hardly any real difference in how they look with the newer models. I'll take either an EMD GP38-2 or a GE B23-7 any day. Just give me great weather and some actual trains running and I'm fine.

MLW/ALCO to be honest, but I picked EMD. Why? I'm tired of -9's and AC4400's.

I said EMD while railfanning becuase catfish get annoying sometimes and GE at the throttle becuase they beat EMD in comfortness any day.

EMD for me (both ways), especially if its Classic SD40-2's, SD45's or SD40T-2's. In Today's "Day & age", I don't know care what Locomotive I 'catch', just as long as its in a beautiful location and in any type of weather (Rain, Sun, Snow or Fall). But photographing a nice classic lashup of EMD power will always be my dream!
