How about a little help from my friends
Hi all, I had this one rejected for bad contrast. That's a new one for me. I am admittedly still a rookie at this whole photography thing so I figured I'd let the pros have a look at it and give me some advice. I didn't adjust the contrast at all in Photoshop or anything like that.
http://www.railpictures.net/viewreje...d=508875&key=0 I know there's nothing special about the photo, but hey...like I said, I'm still a rookie. |
I cannot be 100% certain about the contrast looking at it on this monitor, but I would say it needs more contrast. Also it is leaning a bit to the right, try a slight rotation to the left, until it is level with the door of the loco.

It does also have a bit of grain so perhaps it was lightened too much or oversharpened just a little, but it does need a little more contrast and a slight rotation
What ISO are you shooting at? Brian |
The exif data shows 400iso F8 and 1/500 on a Digital Rebel XT.

400 F8 1/500 would probably allow too much light in on a bright sunny day, so with that and a second look at the image my guess is some clouds/haze are contributing to the contrast problem.
