After I posted that comment, I looked at that shot again, I'd say work on the first one's color, darken it up and see. It appears overexposed which is what is throwing me. But, with a little photo...

I wouldn't bother with the first one, for a broadside shot you really need perfect side on light. It's to bad, it's a neat spot, guess the train came at the wrong time of day.

I like the shot, the only thing I would have done different would have been shooting the locomotives when they where over the boaters instead of way at the right. All of the eye catching subjects...
