Thanks Jim :-D I had a hell of a time getting the snow out of the lens, the wind was blowing towards me... and it's a good thing I took many shots as 75% of them has a giant snow flake hiding part...

I'd go with the software used to sharpen the picture; there's no way you'd have that much noise at ISO 400 from a DSLR unless you cropped like hell :-(
