Not train related but attached is a 100% crop of the lead singer of a band I was shooting with a buddy's 5D MKII @ iso 2000. No processing done, just cropped from the 5,062 pixel original and saved...

The problem you may have though, since there's no TTL metering, you are likely to get some gross overexposure of close objects.

I bought the Adorama Pro-Optic 500 f6.3 reflex. It's definitely not for fast moving subjects, but I think it will be fun to play around with.
All of these were shot with a Canon 20D. Haven't tried...
