It looks like you should have changed the white balance setting on your camera before taking this. Most cameras have white balance settings that compensate for the horrible color cast by mercury...

Assuming that the time & date on your 20D are correct, the EXIF said 14:37. Probably still a bit too early for best results in the high Southern California sun.

Look at the rails. The sides are almost completely dark. The only way for that to happen is if the sun is directly overhead.
