Great shot of a narrow gauge Beyer Garratt. If you've taken the photo in RAW, you should be able to adjust the exposure manually. I would take it back about -0.75.

I agree the rejected image has cut the train off substantially. It is a bit distracting.

The headlights in the Landrum image compensate for the underexposure I feel. A bit of contrast is great.

I think there's too much space in the foreground also. The crop by Dennis is on the money though in my opinion.
