Take it for what its worth
That first shot of the UP is overexposed- not just the numberboards. As for the second shot, you would be surprised at what 1/2 stop would do. Just try to use a slower shutter speed or smaller...

Well I realize the lead unit is in a shadow.....BUT that is the whole purpose of this photo. A sort of daylight silhoette. Anyways, here is one of my rejects...Is it really distrating to you??
