Agreed. If you have some more to add to the right that could also be helpful.

ROT is more than just keeping the subject out of section 5. Generally you want the subject at one of the intersection...

Yeah that's absolutely a thought I've had, is it something I'll actually use? But since I'm still young and in college being out late at night is nothing out the ordinary haha so I guess now's a good...

Thanks for the feedback so far. He's selling because he bought them but never really used them, no time to railfan with his new job. Haven't discussed a price yet so we'll see. Just wanted to know if...

Photo Flash: Yongnuo

Hi all,
I know some of you here have experience with night-flash photos. A friend of mine is looking to sell his set up and offered it to me, but I have no experience with this type of equipment. He...

I noticed these as well. Never understood why someone would submit like that. I'm all for seeing different angles of the same train, but why not wait a week between submissions or something....

I agree, that's possible, but there is also a rejection for trespassing that can be used if that's the primary reason for rejection.

Other than not being able to explicitly tell that its a derailment or some type of incident without reading the caption and looking at the workers there, I don't see why it would be similar to...

Yeah I think it's a decent shot overall. If you know it wasn't a double upload then either try and appeal or better yet, just fix that antenna and a little sharpening and resubmit with a note saying...

Here's a screenshot of my linked post. It kind of appears as a thumbnail. It's larger than the RP thumbnails to the point you can almost see enough of the image to not need to click, but they are...

As a followup test, I linked one of my photos to three FB groups (about 2200 members total assuming no duplicates) after it had been on RP for 24 hours. It had 381 views before linking and 410 after...

I think it's dark enough on the right to hide the train being cut off. While this is better than the first frame, I don't think you have enough "silhouette" to make it work, but that's just my two...

Yup, I have had this rejection used for girder bridges as well. It is somewhat oddly phrased given the context though.

IMO the reason the accepted works and the rejected doesn't is the difference in the background behind the train. Simple and open in the accepted helps lend to a silhouette effect, lots more...

I'm surprised it would get a PAQ. Seems a simple backlit rejection would suffice. Good to try something different, but I don't think this is going to get on RP.

It's a neat idea, but the one light right above the loco cab (behind it) kind of ruins it for me, makes the lighting there very odd.

It's a nice and pretty cool shot, even for me who isn't really a fan of the RR's outside North America. Also, just an FYI to post the photo in the forum, you need to use [photoid=XXXXXX] so yours...

I'm a terrible judge of sharpness, just can't discern it. Not saying the image didn't have some issues I would adjust, but this grain rejection is baffling.

My guess is that the train itself is somewhat vertically centered. Perhaps some off the bottom or the top, or add some to the top and take off the bottom (if you have space) would help.

Again, I think that's a decent shot and the lighting certainly isn't harsh like true high sun. IMO that rejection should be based on the the light being harsh in the shot, not just because the...
