This is where the frustration comes from...

So I had what I thought was a neat shot, but not 100% sure how RP would look at it, but I liked it enough to go ahead and upload it...

Rejected - but only for being underexposed.

Nice shot. I like the dramatic sky - it has some definition and the reds and greens really pop. As you said lower the sharpening, and probably some tweaks in the sat and you've got a beauty. :)

I don't know - about as tough as mine from last night. Maybe .01 degree CW? Railings look like they could be leaning just very slightly to the left, but seems a bit picky to me.

I never thought of it before and don't think there is any point to it, but I would have to guess he means the first page of photos when you choose sort by newest images. Of course that can change...

Yes, if you shoot jpeg (I only shoot RAW) - but if you have a camera as nice as a 40D (that's what I have too) why would you want to let the camera pre-determine the parameters with the same settings...
