Like the first one and I'm sure you could make adjustments for acceptance. Looks a beautiful train too! Is the lead unit missing some sort of nose cone?

Have to agree with you re the blue chair, which spoils an otherwise nice photo (love signal cabins). For me the second one perhaps looks a bit too "posed"?

Try what Jim Thias said and Rob Jordan makes a good point too about the DOF aspect. More than a nice enough photo to selectively sharpen and resubmit I would say.
