Not a fan, or an example of how a shot should get in. The light post, the wires, not terribly sharp, kind of tight, has all the trappings of a grab shot in poor light.

Ok, i'm going to say that those are a couple good photos, even if one of them might be a little unlevel. Not egregious and certainly they don't belong in this thread... this is for grossly crappy...

I like most of Tom's photos, especially 40 year old Milwaukee Road stuff, but i'm not sure a pic from the late 90's with those kind of flaws should afford the same leeway...

Rather than take advice, he goes out and finds something similar that was accepted. I agree the shot he found isn't a good one either.

If I was to guess, he's standing too close and doesn't have a shot like that.

That would have been my choice. I never shoot through a bridge to get a shot on the other side, it almost never works...

Very awkward, almost forced. The cut off part of the girders upper right is particularly frustrating. The choice to frame the shot, whether intentional or not, by the bridge structure doesn't work...

I can understand getting lots of views being the first shot of a unit, but PCA's and favorites I thought usually had some merit, outside of "the paper" and stuff like that

It's not a very good scene in general, so i'm not sure it's worth any real effort to try to get that shot on, but if you are dead set on getting it on, clone out the sign, not hard...
