The first one actually looks a bit underexposed to me. Try brightening it and bumping up the contrast a bit; that may sort out the colour issue on its own. Your second attempt looks very greenish. As for the composition, I like it as-is (minus the pole, but I don't think it's a killer in this case.) I think you went too tight on the left in your final attempt.

Personally, I find that the daylight setting on my camera biases the colour balance too far toward the blue end of the spectrum, and you lose the golden glow of late-evening light.
