Actually, one can tell the difference between AC and DC locomotives. For example, The SD70 DC series has 3 radiators on the conductors side while the SD70MAC has 2. Also there are additional electrical cabnets behind the cab and at the rear of the SD70MAC. For GE, the AC4400 has a huge inverter cabnet on the conductors side while the air condtioner is located on the engineer side of the cab, as seen by grills. The AC6000 is in a league all its own. And I cant seel the difference [maybe there isnt one] between SD70ACe and SD70M-2 yet.
