Getting such a tight shot on a train at this time of day/evening doesn't do service to the photo.

The orginal appears as if a storm is approaching from the rear and that the photo is underexposed. Is there something else in the photo that would make it obvious that it is dusk? Shadows (not on the train of subject), sunset, glowing windows of a timeshack. Things like that would have given the viewer a sense of dinner time; setting the mood.
