Layout Photography.
Was bored last night. Set up my flash and wireless reciever, and turned off the lights in my room and snapped this photo of my layout. I was trying to go for the ''last light of day'' look.
I think it turned out alright, lets see what everyone else has.

Good thing you've got a pair of ACs with steerable trucks, or else that curve wasn't gonna happen

Needs some fill, I think...not much, but evening light doesn't usually have shadows THAT deep.

I get derailments all the time, hence why there is only one car on the end.

Oh I know. lol Thanks for the input, I wasn't stoked about the deep shadows, I just thought it had that late evening kind of feel..
EDIT: also tried bouncing the flash off the ceiling, it was too dark. I need a better flash for this stuff, for some reason I thought it was a good idea to buy and off brand flash...

Nah you don't. All you need are some cheap reflectors/umbrellas/softboxes and cheap flashes and radio triggers.

I've got a cheap wireless setup, I've also got a nice umbrella for portraits, but I don't have the mount to put it on the light stand yet; its still in the mail.

Joe, those photos are a bit dark, but they are still very cool, especially the last one. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks all I was trying to replicate that "last chance" afternoon light, often having only one of the overhead lights turned on. lens stopped down as far as it will go and a long exposure.
Here's a few more.
And one with my buddy Dan's '80s Amtrak train

Love the SD9 with the Mars lights.
I didn't know so many RPers were also model railroaders!

Is that supposed to be the Moffat line? Sure looks like it's between tunnel 1 and tunnel 2.
