Leave a little more in front of the engine (the left) so the train has someplace to go. You can also very carefully select the front of the hood, and brighten it up a little, and add just a little contrast.

Are we talking about making this a good shot? Or making it RP-worthy? I like the shot as is with the things mentioned above, but the side light will probably keep this off of Railpictures.

im agree with ddavis i think that if you can lighten the nose of the loco more it may has the chance to be accepted at rp.net.
