Thumbs down oh no, not again

I'm quite sure some screener is getting tired of seeing this:

http://www.railpictures.net/viewreje...69&key=1284850

For those who saw this before, I think I got the color much better but bad cropping is still the problem apparently. I invoked the "rule of thirds"
by placing the lead locomotive one third from the bottom and one third from the left.

So, before I give up on RP with this image, maybe more off the left? Less water and more mountain?

Possibly it's just time to move on to other images.
TIA

Michael

The two locos together are the focal point, since the train is so small. Therefore, rule of thirds would have you crop some off the left side. You can also cut a little off the top and bottom to make the photo more of a standard 4x6 dimension ( I don't think it is now?).

If there's enough resolution to handle cropping it down this far, I'd suggest something like this:

I think in the case of this image, the landscape elements are an important focus too, and I think the relatively large amount of empty sky doesn't help the balance of the photo. Of course, I could be entirely wrong!

Great ideas! Sometimes I get too attached to a photo and fail to see all the options. Thanks for taking the time.
