Default Best Christmas/Holiday Train

Ok, seeing some of this years Christmas/Holiday trains from the railroads, lets see what ones we like best. I looked hard and found the coolest ones of 2006. I thought CSX has a holiday train this year, but I didnt find it, so its not included...

HAHAHAHAHAHA! That was great!!! I chose the CP Holiday train mainly because the feeling I got while chasing it Friday and Saturday nights. It was so great watching the train wind its way through the valley between Scranton and Binghamton with the lights shining and cars pulled over every few hundred feet to watch it go by. Then seeing Santa waving to the crowds of all the "towns" along the line. Finally, the best part of the whole "event" was watching people donate food for the local food banks and watching a huge crowd gather to watch the performers. This past weekend definitely made a great impression on me. Kudos to CP and the towns involved for this great tradition, they definitely jumped up on my fav. roads. I highly recommend checking out one of the three routes next year or this year if you get the chance!

I would definately have to agree with you on this. It was very cool seeing this train at the stops it made, and along route 88. CP put on an excellent show.

I choose the CP train, mainly because they put the most effort into it, and it has been a christmas icon train for years, when one thinks of christmas trains, CP rail is the first to come to mind.

Having said that:

CSX had one:

I'm impressed! From Browns Yard to Freehold, NJ on Dec. 9th is Conrail's (you were very close) annual Santa Train. Any guesses as to who might be there (besides Santa of course)? LOL I was gonna bring up the CMSL Santa Express but I don't think tourist lines should be included in the poll. Just my opinion.

My bad, I didnt catch the CSX one, I was looking for it but I never found it. As for Santa, Amtrak does that in Edmonds, and I wouldnt really count it either. Not decorated or really cool looking.

I really wish there was a holiday train in the PacNW besides SP4449 in Portland (which Im going to visit on the 16th )
