Default Bad Cropping

The other day i got out for a few minutes and had a train coming into what i thought would be a great shot. I was going to set up when I heard another train coming from behind me, and I figured it would block the view of the other train so I almost gave up until I noticed they were going to meet not far from where I was. I took this shot and got bad cropping, I realize its fairly dark, but that was not the idea, but settled for it when i realized the meet was going to happen. Should I toss this one in the personal folder or does it have a chance?

As far as the cropping goes, I suspect the issue is that you have the trains (and the horizon line) smack dab in the middle of the photo, which violates the so-called "rule of thirds" and also, in this case, leaves you with a lot of empty space in the foreground. However, even if you fix that I suspect you'll next get nailed for backlit because the side of the trains facing you is in shadow, or perhaps blurry or PIQ as the shot looks kind of hazy . . .

Thumbs down

The image quality seems bad to me. Also the angle is not good.
