Question Do you think they saw each other?

Amazing how close these two photographers were together in such a large place.

The photo ID's are only 5 images apart. Could they be one and the same person? If not, then they must know each other and used the same computer to upload. Surprised one didn't get a "Similar to previous photo" rejection.

No, they are not the same person.

Doubtful about "used same computer."

Maybe, but perhaps the magic number is three or more images.

This is the second time you've gone out of your way to call out mojavesub for something you're guilty of. Personal vendetta much?

Yes, I was at the top of the stairway with a group and Craig was 1/2 way to the landing of the next floor down.

David who was a little further down the stairway is actually in Craig's shot - as are a few of the other 40 or so people that were there that night.

Pot calling the kettle black - how so?

Furthermore, how am I calling Mr. Mojave Sub out?

How is he supposed to know what other photos are in the queue and by whom?

And as a point of clarification, I am guilty of what?

What is so strange about this exactly? Some people like to railfan with friends instead of playing with action figures by themselves.....

Just curious why the screener didn't see it.

Or if they did, what is the difference between these shots and the ones that Jdirelan87 referenced.

I have pictures from yesterday too, perhaps I will browse what has been accepted before I upload any of them to avoid the "like others" rejection - however, I didn't see anyone at the places I went.

Sadly, I don't have any shots of the Chief because I was unaware it was late, and by the time I read the FB post and heard the horn (distinctly different than a freight) from the rear of Sullivan's Curve, there was no way to get out of the wash and across the tracks before it went by.

Doubtful in this instance.

I didn't think it was that big of a deal, just an observation of continued inconsistency in the screening process.

Interesting how Jdirelan87 brought up the issue with the three pictures of the Amtrak train because that is what got this all started in the first place.

Carolina Piedmont GE Turbine H&W Train (5)

We were making up the last of the railfans yesterday chasing the CPDR H&W train and at this spot, my wife said, "You should pull down beyond them so you're not getting the same shot.... and those tracks there would make a great foreground element." Yep. I married wisely!

It seems that would be the preferable thing to do, but sometimes the photo line just forms on it's own.

When "I" got to this spot, there was two other people with cameras.

It got a little "thicker" once the train arrived.

However, there were only I and a friend at this one.

Ah, ok. I guess I thought the two lines of your post were implying something else.

That was my first and last steam chase.

As chases go, that was really tame and the people well behaved.

Course I stayed away from Barstow, Cadiz and by the time it got to Cajon the sun was setting.

Upper Cajon was actually deserted and I parked on West Summit Island at Silverwood unopposed.

That was a little surprising.

The eastbound chase along the Needles Sub on Road 66 was a lot of fun.

I chased going out as far as Cajon since the light was all wrong once the sun got too high.
