Having trouble figuring out the color on this one.

Submitted a few times and still getting kicked for bad color.

Latest rejection
http://www.railpictures.net/viewreje...key=1309117534

2nd rejection
http://www.railpictures.net/viewreje...&key=898488958

Am I still off on the color? AM I getting close?

Any help would be appreciated

Latest reject was much better than second rejection.

Way too much yellow in both (but not as bad in "latest").

I personally have had a problem with those trying to tell us to turn railroad photography into an "art form." It's fine for them to do so, I welcome it in fact, but what I do have a problem with is that the practitioners of the more "arty" shots, I have found, tend to look down their nose's at others who are shooting more "mundane" shots.
Railroad photography is what you make of it, but one way is not "better" than another, IMHO. Unless you have a pole right thought the nose of the engine! -SG

If you shot RAW, I'd start by trying to adjust the white balance rather than addressing the color in some other way. It is too yellow, but I think it's because the overall white balance is too warm.

I do two things. First, in PSE9 I use the Remove Color Cast feature, using the dropper to choose a point on the (should be) white sign near the left edge. That is 5591b.jpg. Then, I went into saturation, used the dropper to select the yellow range, using the floor of the station, and desaturated a bit. That is 5591c.jpg.

See what you think.
