This one struggled around 900 for the longest time. Steam, vertical, black and white-not conducive to big numbers. I just couldn't make the color pleasing. So I'm happy to see it over 2400.

Which is pretty surprising, because as I recall, you made out like a bandit on that trip. I would have been extremely happy to come away with that set of photos.
As it was, I missed 611....again. I can thank JetBlue for that disaster. They delayed my flight several times and kept me at the airport until almost midnight before canceling the flight altogether and telling me they couldn't get me to Richmond for at least a couple of days. I told them I wanted my money back....which to their credit, they handled immediately.

Is this Heaven?
Just me and Patch my Border Collie and this train, along the Mississippi River on a great September day.
I know I should reprocess it but so many slides I have never done.

For this one, 500 or 5000 views would not make a difference, Patch is gone but....

Definitely Heaven- perfectly matched train, no one hanging out of the doors and windows...
They must spend a lot of time polishing that engine.
This literally took less than a minute...

As I remember, at this point there was no other followers. No being an elitist but was nice.
Edit, Yes needs something like that. At the time I would often get a color hue rejection, often when they tended toward blue so I got in habit of doing auto white balance, I still do that just to see what it does but often back off. Can't say this had an initial rejection but very often what ends up is not what I started with.

And with a Facebook effort it could have been a good shot

I think it's a fine shot, about the only thing that you could have had better is if the side facing you was lit, but what you gonna do?

I was pretty happy with a lot of my shots, although I did leave a bunch on the cutting room floor so to speak, and blew the exposure on a couple because I didn't have time to properly test ahead of time.
I hate to tell you this, but it's looking like 611 isn't going to get legs this year. I missed all of the 2015 trips because of schedule conflicts, and only got one in 2016 and 2 in 2017, but made the best of them. Really kick myself for not telling work to piss off and taking time off in 2015.

I'll always be thankful that I got the opportunity to shoot the crap out of 765 and 611 over the last few years. You never know what the future holds.

You are also extremely lucky to live in such close proximity to places they run.

Railroad wise, I'd put WV and VA up against nearly any other state(s) in the nation. Living wise.. not so much.

I prefer reading this thread where you all bicker with each other about these photos than the what were they thinking thread.
