How come I can't get a shot like this accepted?

Is it really that 'PEQish'? I tried a similar shot a few weeks ago to the same result. I have many different angles but I don't think that matters.

CSX1702 hit it on the head - although it even goes beyond that to what screener A likes on Tuesday he may not like on Wednesday. It's an issue with really all detail and stationary object shots.

Im going to disagree, all I see if your shot is a bunch of stuff, I cant really tell if im in a loco or a HVAC system. The other shot atleast I can easily see the site of the prime mover, maybe something more focused on an easily identifiable part would be good. Neither are really my cup of tea though.

No. It's easy to tell it's a locomotive.

I'm not mechanically inclined but I believe that's a huge locomotive turbo in the reject.

It's an engine of some kind. If I were a screener, I would have rejected them both

But since one got on, I have no idea why yours didnt, screener roulette

I agree with Troy. Could be any engine room. Maybe one in the basement of a building.

Ya'all forgot the most important and most obvious reason - perhaps the screener just doesn't like you.

I would have many more shots on here I believe, except for the fact that at least one, and perhaps a few other screeners just don't like me.

I am not sure what I have done over the years and I have never met any of the screeners in person, but I am quite sure that their dislike for me is what keeps a number of my submitted images from becoming part of the data base.

It could be a submarine. Submarines back in the day used Fairbanks-Morse engines... kept them afloat for years (pun intended)

Submarine engine rooms are massively tighter and the Colt (Fairbanks Morse) Opposed Piston design results in a much teller engine - so no, it couldn't have been.

Oh, I agree, the caption explains it clearly. Just saying to the point Troy was making, to the untrained eye, this could be any kind of engine room.

And I believe that your shot deserves to be in the database just as much as Dave's does.
