Default 2nd Opinions on Rejects

Hey everybody! This is my first time posting to the forums, and I'd like to get some 2nd opinions on photos I have:

#1: Reason(s) for Rejection: - Blurry
http://www.railpictures.net/viewreje...26&key=1390301

#2: Reason(s) for Rejection: - Bad Cropping: Most often this means that the composition of the photo is poor as it relates the cropping of the image.

Any tips or advise would be appreciated.

We could quibble over the use of the term blurry, but it's not sharp by any stretch of the definition. Look at the front of the engine. Not sure if it was a focusing issue or what, but a legit rejection.

Add a little to the bottom. You cropped to roughly 1200 pixels wide, 700 tall. Go for 1200X800. And take off the tacky watermarks.

Disagree; crop right and some off the top. Yes to changing the format to be less wide relative to tall.

Take some off the right in both images, and sharpen up the number boards of the engine in the first shot - unless of course you focused on the clock, and then you will need to re-shoot this.

The first one is soft, I would argue soft, not blurry, at any rate, try some sharpening and it might get in

The second one, take a bunch off the top and some on the right
