Default What's your average views these days?

Been noticing since I came back my average views the first day for the most part is way down from before. What are you all averaging per day? I know "my mediocre at best" shots usually got more than 120 views the first day.

I was fascinated that today or yesterday's top shot was an overhead shot of a CN dash 8's radiator, that was some compelling stuff.

Views are way down lately. Whereas before, Alaska shots would average at least a 1000 views; now it's maybe 200-300.

Not sure why the downturn...

The only ones I have gotten over 1000 on recently were the couple that got TOD.

I'm not sure I can make a fair comparison as I used to link (and got a lot of crap for it frankly), but even if you exclude the linking, I would say it's probably about 50% or less today of what it was a couple years ago.

No question, RP views have been off significantly for most of this year. According to the Admins, they don't believe site visits are off, but views of individual photos have definitely taken a hit. I think Charles is pretty close with his estimate of a 50% fall-off. Even derailments aren't as popular as they used to be. They still usually make Top of the last 24, but they don't often pull mega-views any more.

By my calculations views/day, over the website as a whole, are down 45% from 2011. This is comparing 2013 YTD with 2011 as a whole, but I suspect it is a reasonably close estimate to 2013 YTD to the equivalent 2011 YTD. They are down 35% compared to 2012.

I would also speculate 40 percent or more. I've put up some of my better work over the last seven months, only to watch it die in every category.

So what do the site owners believe is the reason why views are down so drastically?
