I personally have had a problem with those trying to tell us to turn railroad photography into an "art form." It's fine for them to do so, I welcome it in fact, but what I do have a problem with is that the practitioners of the more "arty" shots, I have found, tend to look down their nose's at others who are shooting more "mundane" shots.
Railroad photography is what you make of it, but one way is not "better" than another, IMHO. Unless you have a pole right thought the nose of the engine! -SG

I was guffing you. I did think they were poorly chosen, but I have no police powers here, just my bully pulpit.

This is a shot that I always liked for how the "red & white" theme flows through the whole picture - train, cars, banners, signs, etc...

Thanks Alec. Don't ya just love it when a grab shot at a location you've never been before that you and the train arrived at simultaneously works out? Actually, both of those shots were grabs.

I do not find myself a view monger. I was posting according to thread, the person starting the thread did not like what I had ( which is fair said ), and so therefore, I will remove the unwanted photos of this thread.

I can read thank you. Obviously I made an error, and I have fixed it. I left the only photo of true 'red' for your gallery. Hope that clears up any problems.

Ian,

You haven't been on the list long enough to appreciate Janusz' humor... but seriously... lighten up (all right, so that's a contradiction in and of itself). He was just having some fun because the pics posted didn't match his theme.

As to Loyd's busting about view mongering... if posting to a gallery gets you four views, you're lucky... so I'm pretty sure that Loyd was having a little fun too.
