Default DOG ON A STAMP - presented by the USPS

WASHINGTON — The U.S. Postal Service has released its stamp dedicated to a dog that, according to legend, protected Railway Mail Service trains. The stamp dedicated to “Owney”.

Quite possibly a former RP subject that was rejected but has gained fame and fortune elsewhere. I commend the Post Office (and their screeners) for their refreshing spirit and boldness!

I bought some of these stamps in November. Those and a Chinese New Year one with a Cumquat. Not sure why we have chinese new year stamps to begin with, but it was a nice looking stamp.
