Clear it out, I have some questions about your web issue, which appears to be mine too now...

Does he even know he's responsible for spreading a virus around the globe?

Sorry, guys. Really sorry.

Yahoo says change the password on the account, and if it happens again, submit something to them.

What is interesting to me is that the emails I saw, because people replied to tell me there is a problem, every email seems different, different link.

I will run anti-malware stuff overnight, also.

I had to fix one of my accounts, and my wifes. Yahoo and AOL are getting attacked hard tonight.

I didn't have any problems, I run Norton, I even clicked on it just to see where it headed but it wouldn't even open it

I wish that made sense, because then I could reply to it properly. Here goes nothing...

It appears that there was a compromise somewhere in the aol / yahoo realm that allowed this attack to take place. It does not appear to be directed at specific end users due to their clicking / opening / downloading of content. Perhaps similar to the Chinese incident in 2010.

I've received several dozen of these emails tonight, too. Hopefully everyone gets the issue resolved soon.

Did people get another wave from my account, around 4:20 - 4:30 pm US eastern time today (Wednesday)? If so, sorry.

Otherwise, I just got a substantially delayed wave of failure to deliver notices.

EDIT: looking at the content of those notices, it does look like a delayed wave, rather than a new batch of spam going out. And the wave came back to me exactly 24 hours after the first wave of failure notices. Would that be something the email systems would do, get out of sync 24 hours or some such?

Looks like the storm has quelled, and yahoo once again says nothing...
