Default True, but is it worth it?

I got a pair of horizon unlevel rejects on these. I have no idea how they are unlevel, so I don't really know what they mean. It seems like the screeners have been extremely extra super picky about leveling lately. Lots of leveling rejects popping up on the forums. I fixed the cropping in the first one, but the poor lighting I don't agree with. Sure, the sun wasn't lighting up the side all of the way, but the train wasn't close up and the bridge makes it interesting. Plus, the 2002 is cool. I guess the shadowed trucks just don't take away from the shot in my opinion. I understand that RP is really picky about that sort of a thing, but I still don't know why the shot isn't up to the guidelines. Is it worth perusing further, either with appeal or by modifying it, or should I keep it for the Flickr-only collection? Thanks!

My eyes are seeing a slight need for CCW rotation. As for the high sun, I guess that is hit or miss with the screener on this one.

Hope you managed to chase the 2002 for a better shot, I'd be pretty pissed if thats the only shot I got of it. The angle isnt bad, though alot of foreground space that is only semi interesting but the light isnt where it needs to be.

Jason- Thanks for the leveling advice.
Nikos- No, I didn't get to chase it. In fact, it was a complete surprise to see it pop out from behind the trees. I was bummed I didn't get to chase it. It ran in perfect lighting (in some spots) with an awesome consist on a day I actually had time for a chase. Instead, as my luck always goes, I didn't know it was coming, and I had to make due with what I got. There would have been know way to have hiked out, ran back the mile to the car, and got ahead of it for another shot, so I was stuck. I always have a chance at this engine (and the 2001) and I never get lucky. Finally, the one time I can catch it, I screw it up! It would have been a great chase! Oh well, hopefully next time.
I like the shot I got of it though, and I don't see the lighting as too much of a problem. Of course, the screeners see it to be different.

The train is going uphill in both shots. You have a nice white horizontal line on the bridge to reference the leveling off of. In both shots, when moving that part of the picture to the top of the frame on my monitor, the line was tilted upward on the left.

Ahhhh. I picked the wrong bridge! This shot is about 1/2 mile away from the bridge I was at. Perfect lighting.

Thanks for the leveling advice Jim. I will play around with the leveling.

Same train, same high sun, and that shot is more unlevel than yours! You didn't pick the wrong bridge, you picked the wrong time of the day to submit. Perhaps you should ask Matthew what time of the day he submitted his shot and then submit yours in that same time frame hoping to get the same screener.
