Well if you photos didn't suck so much maybe they would get on. Now if you had asked how to improve the photos and not insulted the screeners I would have tried to help you.

EDIT: Now would you like to reword your statement? I would be happy to help as you are off to a good start.

This is kinda sad. It's shame to see these people come on here and claim that the screeners hate them just because their photos are rejected.

Those three images were all rejected for accurate reasons. Quit your complaining. If you need the help, these guys are usually willing to help, as long as you're somewhat respectful. Calling the screeners what you did wasn't exactly a good start.

I agree Jim, maybe the cold is getting to everyone. Most of the rejections I have ever got from the screeners have been spot on and I have never had a problem with it. People don't realize the rejections will bring better photos if you 'try' to improve. And calling the screeners a name wont get you any favors, I know that.

It's "Dumas," not "dumbass."

No, I think they just don't like your photos, and I agree with all three rejections:

#1: In addition to the blown-out sky and lack of light on the subject, the huge expanse of snow at the bottom of the image is featureless and doesn't contribute anything to the shot.

#2: The engines simply don't stand out from the trees behind them. I'm also not a big fan of the composition; all of the lines in the image draw the eye to the bottom-right corner, but there's nothing there!

#3: Besides the shadows, the color on this image is wayyyyyyyyyyy off (that's the same number of 'y's as 'r's you used in the subject, right?). Yellow filters are used for shooting with B&W film, not color.

Look, the screeners do a damn good job, and those of us here who take the time to appreciate the feedback they offer profit from the constructive criticism... and we also defend their territory so that they don't get fed up with disrespectful contributors and walk away from their volunteer efforts to maintain the high standard of photos in the collection. Your three photos linked above simply don't belong there.

You have some very interesting scenery to work with in the Bellingham area, so browse through the photos in the RP collection and develop an understanding of what works so that you can take advantage of the opportunities available to you and apply your efforts towards improving your skills. Here's a suggestion to assist with both goals:

I agree, Walter. At first, I used to get rejections that I didn't quite understand, but instead of going on a public forum, and making a fool of myself, I just learned from my mistakes. I still get several rejections, but I usually can understand where the screeners are coming from. I've came a long way thanks to not only the rejections, but from the help of you guys on the forums, as well as other rail photographers.

Thumbs down

Whether they hate you or not is immaterial. These are not RP quality and in my opinion they were dead on in their reasons for rejection. I notice you haven't responded; come on out and let's all have a constructive session. Otherwise, with invective like that you might get ready for the (cue Jim) ban hammer and you won't have to worry about it.

It's gotta be something about the past few weeks. Everyone I know has been on edge, including me. Then again, three midterms in a week will do that to you...

You know, the first shot of those dumbassedly rejected pictures, I honestly thought that it was a jpg that only loaded halfway, but then I realized it was just snow. Now THAT is some blown out dead space. Back to the drawing board with you! Pronto!

LOL.... The initials are an unfortunate coincidence for me I guess. I am still here in Arizona guys. I spoke with my Mom regarding her choice of name hence causing me to have these initials. Her response was she should have named me David Allen. I am just glad she didn’t chose to name me Buford Ulysses.
If any are in doubt as to my identity, please feel free to go to my photos for a look see. Then you can compare them to what was posted earlier. BE WARNED, YOU MUST LOOK AT ALL 27 TO GET A TRUE “PICTURE”.

Not to mention those of us who no longer have to worry about getting laid off....

I needed a good laugh and I "sware" this thread gave me a bit of a chuckle.

Thanks.

HEHE I was trying to make a point, for a beginner the photos weren't all that bad.

And I think me being compared to Mike B is more of a insult HAHAHAHA
