Default Bigger power for the Winchester & Western

A pair of GMTX GP38-2s (2182 and 2196) were noted this morning 8/14/11 in Baltimore on CSX. Both are painted in the WW black, but only one has lettering. They are presently bound for the NJ Division for completion of the lettering. After that, it is unknown if they will come to the VA Division.

They would make the most sense for the VA Division to haul the heavy Hagerstown trains, but we'll have to wait and see.

All information I have received after a visit to the VA Division yesterday indicates the GP38s will stay on the NJ Division. They are sourcing frac sand from the Unimin mine at Dividing Creek, and traffic out of there is heavier as a result. This has brought about more business for the VA Division, because more orders for glass making sand which would have been sourced from Dividing Creek are now going to the Gore mine, returning the Sandman to a M-F operation.
