Default need some cropping help please?

Resubmitted this picture a few times. Having trouble cropping any ideas? I am a new train photographer, have gotten a few accepted already.

Thanks for your ideas.

Welcome to the forums! Welcome to RP.

First of all, that is a CF7, not a GP7.

I'm not sure about the crop, actually. I suspect that ultimately they want a lot of the grass to go, although one could make an argument about removing a bit of sky instead. Depends on how one feels about grass. But RP, in its crotchety way, is fussy about crops on a pure roster shot.

Since it's a roster shot, I'm surprised they didn't hit you with the "bad angle" rejection. They tend not to care for poles and such growing out of the top of a loco on a roster shot. Aside from the pole, keep an eye open for things like the tall grass on the right poking up and barely touching the rear trucks. A step or two to the left would have avoided that as well as placed the loco in in the natural "U" shape that small tree on the left and the tall grass on the right has created (better balance, IMO). But, you still have that pole...
