Good evening-

I got this rejection, which I am figuring out the best way to get some of my dad's stuff on rp.net:

I am not sure the best way to go about fixing this reject, but I could use some assistance with the errors listed.

Please tell us what photo processing skills you have and what photo processing software you use, if any.

The basic problem is probably that you uploaded a slide scan without doing anything to it at all, a big no-no.

My photoshop skills are novice to say the least.

The slide is originally in color, but is overexposed, so that's the reason I went to black and white.

Other than that, that's pretty much all I did.

Basically, you need to fix everything mentioned.

- crop: you need to get rid of the dark strips which are visible parts of the slide frame, left and top
- level: the shot is tilting. You need to rotate it in software to make it level, in this instance make the smokestack vertical
- dirt: you need to get rid of all the specks of dirt in the sky, and elsewhere (I see some on the building the smokestack is coming out of or is behind)
- overprocessed: tough one, I'd first want to see the shot sharpened and then assess what it looks like

If you don't know how to do these things, you need to learn about post-processing.

BTW, you have "scene" twice, the second time it should be "seen"
