Composition/Balance rejection

Hi all. Had this tossed for composition/balance. I have more to work with on the right and the bottom, so I can adjust the cropping. What do you all think would work best? Do you see other issues that will kill it if I fix the cropping?

Hi Jon,

I would take the existing image and crop just a hair to the right of that left-most electrical cabinet. Then, I would take a little off the bottom, so the locomotive isn't so centered vertically. I think this should be pretty easy to fix.

This site has a gazillion vertically-centered photos accepted. Even some dead-centered.

So what exactly makes THIS one "unacceptable" ???

My take was the 9042 is ready to run off the the edge????("or too close to any of the edges.") plus it has that feel, last image in sequence just before the signal post is covered.

Assuming there are slightly earlier shots, I would prefer one giving the engine a little more room with the signals, a little more natural, that would give a little more crop room too, right now if you crop off the bottom you have the 9042 close to bottom and right side.???

I like the suggestion of the earlier frame, so there is no "merge" between the locomotive and the signal post. The balance looks pretty good to me. If it were mine, that's how I would do it.

That second version looks great to me. I think it's more dynamic, more movement implied, captures the signals better too.

Earlier frame looks worlds better, Jon. You may want to brighten up the nose a bit as they might hit you for backlit next.
