Well guys I've tied the knot twice. Now #1 was quite enthusiastic about trains and we used to take trips quite often; certainly she would tolerate sitting by the tracks for an hour waiting for the train to show up.
#2 made me promise never to drag her round railroad museums or to make her go on train trips. But every year I get two or three weeks' freedom to "get it out of my system".

I'm also allowed to spend what I want on camera gear and travel. Aside from my annual "hard-core" trip, the rest of the year railfanning is pretty much a hit & miss affair.
In hindsight, #1 might look like the ideal railfan's wife, and #2 not. But do I regret moving on? Not for one nanosecond. Do I regret marrying #2? Not for one nanosecond. The second section is always better
There's more to life than trains (though at 16 I might have thought differently). Buyer beware!
