Rare catch in my area
While doing some paperwork downtown this morning I heard what I thought was going to be the Northbound CSOR freight. To my surprise it was an Amtrak EMD SW1500 pulling this line of empty cars. In my 23 years living in this city this was the first time a can remember seeing this sight. I just had to grab my camera and get a shot.

I think that you shouldn't post photos in the forum just to get more views. If everybody posted their rare catches here the forum would be a mess.

He's not trying to get more views...... he is simply sharing his rare catch. After all, that is rare power.

Very saturated color, I would have probably knocked it for that so consider yourself lucky. It is a cool catch but why now show more of the surroundings like a wide angle of the buildings. To me it doesn't appear that rare because I don't know where you are shooting, just my opinion.

Thats what i was thinking, Colors way to deep, and needs a skyline.

If my photo has 1 view or 10,000 views, I don't care. This is a rare sight in my area. As I said in my original post, it is the first time in 23 years I can remember seeing an Amtrak loco pulling freight cars through Central Connecticut. Usually the only freight train running on this line is Connecticut Southern.
Andrew, thank you for the comment about the color. I'll rework it and see if I can submit an improved image.
As far as showing more skyline, I happened to be in the area when it was coming through town, I wasn't set up and waiting, I just grabbed my camera and squeezed off a few shots. But I thank you for the advice and will consider it next time I'm out on my own time.

Yep nice shot , hard to tell from here what you can do. Cant tell if you can move back or if you can go wider, Its not a biggy but i try not to cut off the tops of the buildings.

I like that spot and I think any power would look good there, BUT you gotta show skyline/tops of those buildsing and you need the power in front of the lower building. With power in postion where it is, then you would have to move many feet to your left.......... I like the color of the old brick with newer buildings...
Just my humble opinion
Doug
