Jim, do you happen to have a shot of her throwing a switch by any chance? I couldn't resist!

Wouldn't it be cool if:
I could think of something sensible to add - just so I could show of my avatar

Question. Is J.T.'s avatar a copyright infringement - you know, like lifting pics from RP?

Me too!

<----- Look at my stormy Metra shot!!!

Jim, I like your pan shot of that sweet obs car!

Wouldn't it be cool if...hmmm... the Canadian Pacific stuck with the Multimark (pacman) as their logo, and the CN kept painting their locomotives in their 'zebra stripe' scheme!

my perfect world

The PRR still exsisted
Amtrak was never formed(CLASS 1's had to do service)
Horseshoe curve was still 4 tracks
Steam still lived
PRR K4 1361 ran
The D&RGW still exsisted
The Track from durango to alamosa and chama was never torn up
The EBT had all 30 miles of track and all locomotives running
conrail still exsisted and the WM still exsisted
NS never took all mainlines down to 1 track

-If the general public knew that trains don't run on coal anymore.
-If every picture of a train would make it on railpictures.
-And if my homepage had anything to do with trains.

One thing you should add to the operational things on your lines would be "profitable" as well. While I lament closures, if some lines weren't closed, the railroads would slowly wane back to the point of the '80s when most were on the brink of death. I'd rather have less rail lines than no railroads at all. Just coming from a budding rail engineer, of course.

On another note, if BNSF had kept the warbonnet as one of its primary paint schemes, truly portraying the classiness and speed of its service.

Or, if the ATSF was still around.

Oh Lord where to start. I like Jims avatar it makes me lol, I also like my avatar of a random Southern Railway Maitnence Limit sign I found track side once.

Alright heres my ''wouldnt it be cool'' two cents

If SD70AcE's were not so ugly.

If CSX kept all the Geeps and SD40's on the KP sub in there Seaboard System colors instead of repainting them YN3.

If CSX kept getting low numberboard GEVOS instead of switching to high numberboards.

If CSX and NS repainted all the Conrail locomotives back into Conrail colors.

If Canadian Pacific showed up here on the CSX more.

If BNSF restored all the Warbonnets back to there former glory.

If BNSF had a Subdivision through Northeast Tennesee and Soutwest Virginia.(hey one can dream)

If NS used the N&W 4-8-4 611 on freight service.

If CSX would start running Eastman stack trains through here again.

If I could get a good VR telephoto lens.

If I had a Ford Explorer to replace my gigantic Dodge Dually that has no a/c ,for a railfan ride.

If high sun only existed in winter time.

Im shure I could think of more but oh well.

I don't wish that for a second. Read this quote from a thread over in the site-related forum:

Funny, yet sad.
Having RP no different than a site like RRPA wouldn't make it anything special. It couldn't realistically claim to have the "Best railroad photos on the 'net". When you get a photo accepted, don't you like seeing it on a site that says that?

-If you could take the sun or moon and drag it to the desired place in the horizon with your hands.
-If you could control the weather conditions.
-If you could change the train lineups and put good power on them.
-If you could freeze time, move to a new location, and then unfreeze it again - would be useful in a chase.
-If you could travel back in time to a given era in railroading.

But then again, some of these would take the challenge (and the fun) out of everything.

Wouldn't it be cool if...

All trains you chased moved at 10mph?

A buddy of mine and chased a train today for about 40 miles and the top speed was about 10mph on most of the line. A few times it got up to 25, but it was still easy to stay ahead of it. Photo ops galore! haha

Konica Minolta DiMage Z3, not bad, but not the greatest either. Mine has a wobbly lens HOW I don't know, but it happened. Probably hitting it with http://www.traxxas.com/products/nitr...fect_roost.jpg didn't help.
