Ya, but the cars sure run better and for longer.

I still have a 63' and while it is as simple as a lawn mower to fix, it is about as dependable as drunk ex-girlfriend.

I will stick with the complicated.

Rush kicks ass. And oddly, I can name off the top of my head more Rush albums than any other band or artist. Hmmm...

Rush..........respect. I might not be into their more recent stuff, but they still rock

As a jingle on my favourite radio station says
"Because Disco is STILL dead and rock is STILL classic"

If Geddy Lee had a man's voice I could handle their music. I'd probably even like and (dare I say it) respect it, at least the stuff that isn't totally pretentious. As is I think they suck, always have thought they sucked even if they are (relatively) local. Wouldn't even go to their concerts when they played at my high school. If I hear the opening notes of one of their songs on the radio, I change the channel. I've mellowed considerably, in the past I'd been known to shoot the f#%kin' thing when they came on. All that being said, they are all excellent instrumentalists, it's just that squeaky whiny voice that I can't stand.

Though his mind is not for rent
Don't put him down as arrogant
His reserve, a quiet defense
Riding out the day's events
The river

Ooh!

Deep!

Aretha Franklin is in the RRHOF...'nuff said.

Also, AC/DC (Krokus and Airbourne too). End of music discussion...

???

I was quite surprised to hear a band like Krokus would be in the hall of fame, so I looked it up. Franklin is there, AC/DC is there, not Krokus. Never heard of Airbourne. Jefferson Airplane is in.

Is there an international hall of fame?

You mis-read my intent.

Aretha Franklin in the RRHOF shows what a sham that "honor" is.

AC/DC, Krokus, and Airbourne were mentioned about what is legendary music (see: actual rock and roll) and not about the RRHOF. I'm about to choke to death from the vomit in my mouth brought on by all the Rush love...

Just listened to a couple of their songs on youtube. Looks like they are about 15-20 years late to the party on that genre... They probably would have done well in the late 80's or early 90's.

I have to give them credit for making real rock music, but the hair band stuff is not my cup of tea anymore. I caught part of the movie "Maximum Overdrive" a couple weeks ago (soundtrack by AC/DC) and it was cool listening to the old AC/DC songs for a bit but it grew tiresome. Especially because radio played the shit out of them and kind of ruined it to some degree. The few songs I listened to of Airbourne they remind me a little of Jackyl, if anyone remembers them.

I've always liked Lee's voice (especially his vibrato), and I enjoy emulating it when singing Rush songs.

Really?

Limelight? Freewill? Closer to the Heart? Fly By Night? Spirit of Radio (with a nod to Simon and Garfunkel's "Sound of Silence" in the final verse), Red Barchetta (probably my favorite Rush song), Subdivisions?

Working Man?

This song F'ing ROCKS!

Oh, I'm familiar with their work. I saw them in concert once. But how many times can you listen to the same 5-6 songs?

Modern day Krokus (sounds like Bon Scott-era AC/DC):

And Airbourne (2 brothers from Australia, lead guitar a Gibson SG or Explorer, Marshall stacks, awesomeness):

Or if you're into 8-bit, Nintendo-esque music, here you go:

You're welcome, everybody!

Why don't you like Aretha Franklin? Are you simply saying her music is not rock, or are you saying she is not worthy?
