Two rejections of Singapore's Monorail

Hi all,

I have the following two rejections:

(1) Bad Cropping

(2) Composition/Balance:

I guess both rejections though the reasons are different they are quite similar. For the first one probably the screener thinks the train is too small therefore I uploaded the second one with closer-up of the train, then it becomes "bad composition". Any idea how can I improve either of these photos?

The 1st one is really tight on the right side, try loosening it and going more for a rule of thirds.
The 2nd one has a lot of stuff going on in the background, and is kind of overwhelming. Nothing is cleanly framed.

The close up version is a "tweener" for me, meaning it's either cropped too tight for me to locate myself or it's not cropped tight enough to be a "roster shot" of the monorail train. I think you could either go looser or tighter.

The first one, I'm less sure of. I kind of thought it would get in as is - do you have more on the right?

I don't have any issues with either composition. The subject matter is fascinating, by the way. Keep trying, because these subjects deserve to be on RP.

I like them as is. If you want them to be accepted adhere more closely to the "rule of thirds."

The train in the first one is very close to the right side; and the yellow dock equipment is very prominent in the left.

Agreed 100%. One of the things in the second one that drew my eye in was the woman walking below the monorail. Both are very interesting scenes, and I think the monorail is placed perfectly (well, maybe a little tight) in the first one to balance the big yellow structure on the left.

The off balance nature of the shot emphasizes what a tiny little train it is IMO.
