Gallery: Fall 2013
Gentlemen,
These gallery threads seem to be a thing of the past.. Perhaps forgotten due to the ability to create albums geared toward a theme or genre. Regardless, I've been inspired with recent foliage photos from various contributors to bring the galleries back to life with a collage of your favorite fall foliage photos from 2013.
The most optimal time of year for many photographer's, each fall has its pros and cons. The onset of cooler weather and the most short lived season, the colors can be spot on if nailed perfectly.
Let's see some of your favorite fall 2013 photos, whether from yourself or your favorite contributor. For me, these three rank among my favorite so far this season.

Well, since I actually got some fall foliage shots of my own for the first time in several years - fall is a bad time for free time usually - here is mine. I'll do my favorites from others another time.

Galleries are cool - good way to start up a new album.
But, alas, once a new album is started, it's buried even deeper then a photo submitted to RP 5 years ago. No search, no favoriting nor anything other then linked or double clicked views to signify a good album and of course, even the content of a black hole's pile of albums on RP.
Anyway - here are some that came up with a keyword search "Fall", y'know... since there is no "Fall Foliage" search:

Limiting myself to Fall 2013 shots as per Chase's request I don't have as many as I normally would, as bad weather knocked the leaves off pretty quick this year. These are my favorites so far:
Not as colorful being in a predominantly evergreen forest, it still has a fall feel to it ..
PhotoID: 453353 Photograph © W. D. Shaw
Probably my most colorful of this year as far as leaves go anyway...
PhotoID: 453797 Photograph © W. D. Shaw
Not the main focal point but still visible in the background...
PhotoID: 454030 Photograph © W. D. Shaw
I like the leaves against still blue water in this one...
PhotoID: 455523 Photograph © W. D. Shaw
Few remaining leaves by this time but those that were still up were doubled by the reflection...
PhotoID: 455540 Photograph © W. D. Shaw
Might be heading south this weekend, hopefully there will be a couple more opportunities there...
~Wayne

Fall color in my area was really weird this year, 1/3 of the trees would be full color, 1/3 completely bare, and the other 1/3 were still a lush green. The color itself was dull compared to last year, plus being busy did not help. Oh well, best three I got (so far) this year.

Excellent!
We're still about a week away from peak here in west Michigan, which is weird because we're pretty much due west from you.

Just weird this year in this area, never seen anything like it. Hopefully the color in that spot is still there for 1225 next week, hopefully I can add to this with a good shot of it.

They might suck for you, but they don't suck here where they have changed. Pretty awesome so far...it's just taking a little longer than last year due to the warm September and half of October we've had.

Here's one more with full foliage. The photo charter turned out to be mostly past peak, a disappointment, but in places there was some color.

Admit it, you went up there earlier that day and pulled all the leaves off the trees to get this picture.

If only we could suck em' right off the trees, we'd never have to rake them.
I think Tim Taylor tried that......

Hasn't been a very successful fall for me so far, but a 4-day trip to VA and WV last week was nice. Some good color down there in places, but overall not what we were hoping for.

Much closer to home, this is one of my all time personal favorites. The trees along the Maumee typically turn faster, and at this time they were finally starting to change.
PhotoID: 455114 Photograph © WMHeilman
And I'll just throw this in here... The sky definitely resembles some fall color. The trees, however...

I would have been standing on my toes in order to get the loco to clear that lower leaf cluster so it was at least another 1/2 car length ahead. But I'm just a nitpicker when it comes to train placement.
