I would have to agree with the rejection. Also, your sensor needs cleaned.

Thanks very much both of you for being an extra pair of eyes. I reckon my eyesight is worse than I think. Suppose it is sitting in front of a computer for many minutes. Good to now there are aways people ready to advise.

The only thing I can muster is I believe 1633 is classed as an SD40N?

I saw that Lloyd when I researched the number but it doesn't appear on railpictures database. In their database there are pictures of 1633 listed as EMD SD40-2, which is what I used. Perhaps the screener is playing silly buggers , I wonder if it is worth the hassle.

If you can fix the image quality issues and crop it tighter, maybe?

I am not a gear head as far as loco stuff but the "N" is rebuild designation
https://utahrails.net/up/sd40n.php
If you look at earlier post you get "bad buggers".
Not going to advertise other sites but there are roster sites also. Some older model numbers do not show up on RPs.

A side note: If you have to enter the model yourself, follow the convention of the dropdown. It should be "EMD SD40N" as opposed to just "SD40N" so that the search is actually useful.

Looks to be a bit over-sharpened i.e. crispy to me.

Dave,
If you want to fight the "bad info" rejection, you should fix the other data fields as well:
Locomotive No.: "UP 1633" as opposed to "unknown".
Date: September 29, 2016" as opposed to "September 29, 2016 - Unknown".
Also, "I80 westbound Grantsville" isn't much of a railroad location.

Ted
Take your points but in mitigation I will point out that I was driving along I80 and saw these two locos so turned off and took the picture(which incidentally has been reprocessed after my eyesight deficiencies had been pointed out). I have never been here before seeing as I live in England , so, 4 years later, I went on Google Earth to find out where it was. That's the spot. Don't know what else to put.
Thanks as well everyone for info on loco. I m afraid that the minor differences between classes of locomotives leave me bewildered. I wonder if the same is true for screeners when faced with stuff from the UK? I might get round to trying again but for now I am off for a walk along the unspoilt Northumbrian coast whilst the sun is out and attempt to get the aches from my 74 year old bones.
