Does this have a chance?

Group,

Do you think this photo has a chance? It was nabbed for bad cropping and I was hoping to get it into the database. Any ideas on what I should do with the cropping? Prior to the editing, I had a good bit of room on the right left as well.

Nice exposure. Whether or not it has a chance depends on what the Screeners think of the blur. I think they like a little more than you have here, but I am not a blur expert at all.

As far as the crop, I think the photo is too heavily weighted to the right. Try going vertical and cropping off about the left third or so. You may also need to adjust so that the signal bridge is not smack in the center.

If it were mine, I'd give it a shot. Assuming you get the crop right, I think the decision will hinge on whether or not they like your blur.

I would say submit it, I like the shot personally, great color. I once thought about submitting a shot for 3 days then I eventually said ''the worst that can happen is that it will get rejected''.

It turned out to be my most popular photo in the DB.

Thanks guys for the replies as well as the comments. I kind of took a chance with that photo, I knew I had some evening light to work with, so I didn't want to try an extremely long exposure, but at the same time, I still wanted somewhat of a blur. Next time I may bump up on the exposure just to see the results. Again, thanks for the replies, I'll tool around with the cropping a bit more and hope for the best!

I was hoping for something along these lines as well, but that photo was taken with the Kodak which offered a 12x optical zoom, and with the signal shot I attached in my first post, I was using a 18-55mm lens.

With regards to the shot in question, I agree with the other comments... nice exposure, but an "odd" amount of blur. I'd probably PEQ it if I was a screener.

I finally got around to working on this shot a bit, and after a bit of tweaking, it was accepted into the DB yesterday evening.
