Well, maybe sometimes it does. But this happens a lot with me when I have two shots. One that I think will get in with no problem and anotehr that I think wil get canned. In fact, I almost didn't submit this one --

But it was this one that I felt strongly about, and still do, that got rejected --

Looking it at after the reject, I'm guessing they want some taken off the left side of the frame? Any other thoughts? There's a few interesting tid bits of info about that shot, alluded to in the caption, including imported coal. But I also like the location. The sun only comes around to shine on NB trains a few months a year. But it almost never is perfect as the shadows wil start encroaching before the sun is actually perfect. They do call this the ditch, afterall, from when they relocated the railroad tracks to go under most roads, including the one I'm standing on and the one in the background.

Yup; I don't think it is more complicated than that. Nice shot, I like the repeated shadows of the cars.

And it also appears that you lose a letter in your name when you move to the right, too.

If I had moved to the left, it wojuld have been "Jo."

If possible I'd move the crop slightly higher (so the bridge in the background was on a line of thirds) and slightly right (so the loco was on a thirds intersection) - its a nice shot though. If you can't recrop, have you appealed it ?

Icropped some off the right, but it was mostly just more trees. I'll have to go back and look at it. I haven't done that since I uploaded the original. I have a vertical version when the train is closer, but you end up losing the station and the snake effect.

Well, when you're right, you're right. And you guys were right about, well, the right (side of the frame). It needed more room over there.

Well, in any event, it adheres better to the Rule of Thirds by moving the train ever so slightly toward the center of the frame. One of those cases where I kinda saw it at the time of the rejection, but by sitting on it for a few days then coming back to it during the Braves Brewers game it gave me a new perspective.
