Congrats Aron, thats is how its supposed to work! I was recenty contacted by a fellow working on a book about the history of the NKP 765 about using a shot of mine.. http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=537 , and also had a shot used in a online Newsletter http://nationalcorridors.org (look in the "freight" section of the Jan 5th edition)...

Both of those shots where locate here on RP by the publishers.... Youl would be surpized just who looks at the stuff here

Ice that train picture is the bomb clear crisp and so are many of your others. Congratulations on your photo being selected.
Aaron I thought I was ballsy going out in the rain or chasing some of these trains. But the picture of the BNSF in the driving snow shows us all what being a railfan is all about capturing great moments. In fact I wanted permission to use the photo on my Christmas cards. What better scene than that one.
EM it was only a matter of time before one of your shots showed up in a pubication.
Now my turn to share, I'm happy that RP Net accepted my photos and allows others to see them. I know my shots can't compare to many of the ones you guys have captured, but I'm catching on slowly. But this evening through an e-mail courtesy of RP. NET I received the following

National Railway Historical Society, Southern Nevada Chapter. Would like to request permission in using one of your photos (and perhaps more in the future) for our organizations newsletter. The photo requested is: Photo ID: 42349 Caliente Sub MP 360 Dry Lake Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

Well that is a surprise....just wanted to share this with you all. Never thought I receive a request for one of my photos. THANKS RP.NET and all the screeners even when you reject my photos I learn to take a better ones thanks to you.

Hey Ken, I wouldn't go chasing trains in a blizzard, travelling 35mph on an interstate just to deny anyone permission for its use. You have my permission in advance for next year... if you would like.

Well it seems I am not the only one to have good Fourtune through Rail Pictures. One of my Best Shots that Chris Kilroy helped to "Brighten" up was seen by the Brother of a Top Offical at "VRE" Virginia Railway Express he shared it with his brother & I was contacted by them to use the shot for their front cover of VRE Commuter Weekly which goes out to _____ Thousand Commuters every week.

As I have said before...this is the one of the goals of RP, to let those outside the railfan/photographer group have a central place to search for images that might be useful to them. Speaking of such, I just closed a deal with a goverment agency for use of one of my shots, to be used in a marketing publication late this year...for a handsome sum
