I'll be there both days, Loyd! I think I still remember what you look like. Anyone who goes, please do come over and say hi!

Carl Massart, are you going?

Not a current picture, but at my age the look doesn't change much year to year:

Wow, 6 years. Just ditched the red bag two weeks ago ...

Not on my schedule this year. Major outage at the power plant where I work.

However, if you get a chance stop at the McDonalds there. They were doing a remodel and the interior decorator had shown an interest in one of my pictures but when I requested some $$ for the use of it I never got any more emails. This is one they were interested in.

So, then - just stop in for fries?

/Mitch

PS - Loyd - why stop at who's going and add when, where and if tickets are still available?

Mitch - because Loyd does not want you to come, and because he knows that you are incapable of finding the info on your own, so if he doesn't tell you, all is good.

As I can tolerate your presence, here is a link. BTW, I do believe Sunday is sold out.

Curse, the weather forecast has changed, in net for the worse. Saturday partly cloudy, Sunday cloudy.

I thought it was sold out. No issues with as many people coming as possible. I'll probably upload zero photos from it here, so it's not like I'm trying to hold ground and prevents others from pounding the queue the second the train rolls to a stop..

Aww... c'mon Loyd, don't let the slogan "The BEST railroad photos on the net" fool ya. You can still upload some of yours here.

But seriously - why not?

I look forward to seeing the results from the charter - and even photos similar to others as each will have it's own character in processing and slight differences in angles and perspectives.

Good enough for me is better than the best of the net..

Even if I do, I have to upload something from the Fall Durbin and Greenbrier Charter first.. Don't hold your breath

No fries. Just a Vanilla Iced Coffee.

The photo is of me, not by me. By Travis Dewitz, and before he got really, really good.

I'll be there. Looking forward to meeting some of my fellow RP contributors.

Well coming back from Norfolk today and wanting to avoid the Beltway, via VA 17 and then US 522 to I-70, my damn Garmin sent me west via RT 50 to Romney. Since I did not hear from any of ya' about stopping at Mickey D's, I had to pull in and check. Low and behold on the wall is a pixelized image of my photo showing the loco and the hills behind it. I guess there is nothing legal I can do since it is an abstract, but it was definitely created from my image.

I guess I should thank my Garmin for the re-direct.

No, no Carl, we all took the same image, they could have used any of our shots!

I've been impressed by the number of folks asking for my permission to simply use an image of mine for inspiration - be it an abstract or a painting. I imagine you may have a case worth pursuing, especially if you have a request to use the image which was then not agreed upon. I've never been a litigious kind of guy, nor am I a big fan of simply and randomly calling a lawyer but you could send an invoice to that store for an amount you believe is fair - a little less since it's not an exact copy of your image or a little more because it was done without permission. It would be up to you just how far you pursue it if necessary.

Did you get a pic?

/Mitch

Actually, you can. I would send them a certified letter explaining the situation, and ask them for fifty bucks. The store probably knows nothing about it, but the decorator clearly does. I'm lucky in that my brother is willing to send letters on his business letterhead. (He's a Dallas attorney. ) It gets results pretty fast.
