My, my. This guy seems to really take his use of other peoples' photos seriously.

Anyways, I've contacted as many of the photographers involved as I could. I'll let them take it over from here.

Asked a few contacts I have on the NECR - where this guy said he worked as a conductor for 6 years according to his Flickr profile - and nobody seems to know him.

Lightbulb What a dumb ass!

The photo was not of David Adams (that too was forged) and therefore has been removed.

As a follow up on this - the member is no longer active on Flickr. Spoke with a couple other photogs, and I guess after the repeated reports to Yahoo IP, they yanked his account.

But never fear, morons reappear...watch this stream for your photo - I already see photos on there from photogs that are not David Adams...

Currently being populated with stolen photos as we speak. Just spoke with Mr. Burkholder, and he already reported him for posting some of his work without permission - AGAIN.

Yes but he'll probably be back with another fake name. It's amazing how people try to copy photos that they didn't take. The excuse I always hear is I paid for it. Well it doesn't work that way.

He already is back, Mark. Check out the link that Tom Nanos posted a couple of days ago. The guy started another Flickr account and is once again passing off other peoples photos as his own. I suspect that he has the same attitude as people who pirate music, movies, etc. He figures he's not stealing tangible property like a shoplifter, so that makes it okay. I don't think there is any reforming folks like that.

Fortunately, he's not doing a lot of damage with his Flickr account. So far as I can see, the copyright banners from RP are still on all of the pirated shots, so any viewer who was thinking of purchasing an image would probably know something is not right.

This goes beyond that. People who steal music and movies don't try to pass them off as their own creations. People who steal photos for their own personal use is one thing, but to present them as your own...well, that's some sort of mental illness.

He's doing the same thing on Facebook too - dealing with their IP department is also quite gratifying. A little longer response time than Flickr, but less than 24 hours to have an image pulled.

I've already reported three violations on his new Flickr account, all of which were pulled within hours of the email. So far two with Facebook - first one is gone, the second I just sent in.

The weird thing is he sent me a friend request on Facebook...yeah, after you threaten my life, I'm going to let you into my Facebook? Sure, buddy...hit the old delete key on that one...

Noticed one of the shots belongs to an RP screener.

Well, at least there's none of mine up there (yet)

I noticed his Facebook page is no more too. Maybe they yanked it after a half dozen or so reports from me about posting my photos...who knows.

The more of this fellow's writings I read, the more convinced I become that he's not a threat to make a buck off of anyone else's pictures. It may be better to leave him be and say a little prayer thanking the man upstairs for our own set of problems.

Actually; that is a photo of me. You can confirm it by going to railroad.net and looking up "gprimr1"

I'm a moderator on the Amtrak forum to find me faster.

I would like to find this picture so I can send the appropriate cease and desist letter.

Hey, and someone finally stole one of my pictures; but left the copyright intact.

I didn't really even like that one; didn't work out the way I hoped.

Guys: This poor fellow is obviously a few bricks shy of a load. I give this kind of stuff the attention it deserves. Again---it's a lame Flicker account. It's not like he's going to send one of my shots (or anyone else's) to Jim Wrinn for a cover on Trains.

In the spirit of this discussion, here's a little sculpture I did--all by myself--on the hill behind our home:

If he wasn't using a picture of ME as his avatar; I'd let it go.

He's getting a cease and desist.

Hey, I am the person second from the left and I didn't give you permission to use my likeness on a lawn art statue and then distribute it on the Internet.

Your getting a letter as well!

It came off Mr. Adam's original Flickr account where he claimed that this was a photo of himself.

I grabbed a copy because I figured he would pull it off after I linked the photo to this site.
